Optional Second Floor Apartment Plan Included In Plansets
The Garage With Apartment Plan No. 1476-4 by Behm Design has been very popular for years due to its efficiency of structure and overall economy. The attic storage trusses are spaced at 24" o.c. to create the attic apartment space. At the dormers and Stairway, the trusses are space further apart and connected with ladder framing sufficient for their respective openings. This garage plan also includes a second floor plan version showing it as vacant, not residential space. So it has great flexibility in its ultimate use as a loft - hobbies, home business, storage, etc. The trusses required are typically available at truss fabricators located in almost all parts of the US and, as with nearly all trusses, are produced by the licensed fabricator for the specific job. It is the least costly way to build a loft / roof for a garage plans of this size.
