by Jay Behm - Basic garages are designed for the simple function of vehicle storage with or without additional space. Variables to consider in selecting the ideal garage plans include footprint dimensions - it's easy to determine your needs by measuring your vehicle, include a couple feet of walk around space plus extra space aganst the walls for storage, tools, work benches and equipment. Also, fitting the garage onto your lot with regard to building setback from property lines and other buildings and easements can be a challenge on narrow or smaller lots.
Building height is another factor in garage plans selection, typically limited by zoning ordinences, building covenants and restrictions and local building height and use limits.
