Automotive Lifts
Automotive lift garages have high walls for clearance to lift vehicle to working height underneath. Lifts, as racks, can also provide storage for 2 cars in one bay.
Automotive Lifts typically require at least 12 ft. of floor to ceiling height, some even more if working on larger or taller vehicles. The automotive lift garage plans by Behm Design are generally set up with 12 foot height inside. It is advisable to verify lift manufacturers dimensional requirements before buying plans or ordering a list.
Manufacturers and retailers of lifts and racks will usually provide their product data and specifications upon request, which will help in planning your garage. If greater height is required than shown in a particular garage design there may be simple method, such as building greater height foundation wall or extending height of framed wall to get additional height. You can always call Behm Design to verify what limitations there may be in certain garage designs.
